dynham La’Cynthia Evans is a 16-year-old percussionist and
multi-instrumentalist born and raised on the West Side of Chicago. From an early age, Dynham’s love for music was undeniable long before formal lessons, she could be found creating rhythms on anything within reach, including grocery store cans and household surfaces.
Her musical journey began in elementary school with the recorder and quickly expanded into percussion after she used her allowance to ask for her first drum pad. That moment sparked a path that led to her first snare drum, full drum kits, marimba, vibraphone, and a growing curiosity for piano and bass guitar.
Dynham’s musical foundation includes classical, gospel, and jazz music, with jazz holding a special place as her favorite genre. Outside of her high school, she has received formal training through a multitude of music programs, clinics, and other opportunities.
Some of her performance experience includes the Chicago Jazz Festival, City Winery, Bucktown Arts Festival, Navy Pier’s Chicago Live Festival, and the Roosevelt University Jazz Festival. She has also been featured on WGN News with her high school Jazz combo and has performed at corporate galas, hotel events, and other private gatherings
throughout the city.
Grounded in rhythm and driven by passion, Dynham continues to grow as a young artist who believes deeply in her guiding truth:
MUSIC IS FOREVER.
